SSG Landers’ Oh Won-seok (23) picked up his second win of the season.
Oh Won-seok started the game against KT Wiz in the 2024 Shinhan Bank SOL Bank KBO League at SSG Landers Field in Incheon on June 26, allowing two runs on eight hits with one walk and seven strikeouts in 5⅓ innings.
After a clean start to the inning with a strikeout in the top of the first, Oh retired Moon Sang-chul and Park Byung-ho in order in the second. Back-to-back singles by Hwang Jae-gyun and Cho Myung-ho put runners on first and second, but he got out of the jam by striking out Ahn Chi-young.
Oh Won-seok walked Kim Sang-soo to lead off the bottom of the third, but Chun Sung-ho induced a 4-6-3 double play to get two quick outs. Kang Baek-ho then struck out to end the inning. In the top of the fourth, Moon Sang-chul singled, but he struck out both Park Byung-ho and Hwang Jae-gyun.
In the top of the fifth,
Oh Won-seok, who was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning, got Ahn Chi-young to fly out to third base. He induced a 6-4-3 double play to Kim Sang-soo to end the inning. Won-seok Oh took the mound in the sixth inning and was hit by a leadoff single by Chun Sung-ho and left fielder Guillermo Heredia’s throwing error put runners at second and third with no outs. Kang Baek-ho grounded out to the first baseman to put runners at first and third, and Oh Won-seok gave up a single to Mel Rojas Jr. for the first run of the game.
Moon Sang-chul followed with a single to put runners on first and third, but Won-seok gave up an RBI single to Park Byung-ho, who was replaced by Lee to end the game. Lee struck out Jang Sung-woo and got Choi Seong-ho to ground out to second base to end the threat. SSG went on to win 5-2 and Oh Won-seok picked up his second win of the season.

In his postgame interview,
Oh said, “First of all, I’m happy to get a win at home. It was my first start in four days, but the last time I got a win was also four days apart, so it wasn’t too hard. I’m aiming to be aggressive on the mound this season, and that part was effective today,” he said after the win.
The SSG bats scored early with three runs in the third inning and one in the fourth. “I’m thankful for the seniors in the batting order,” Oh said. “I’m especially grateful to (Lee) Ro-woon, who came in after me and saved the day,” he said, adding that he was grateful to Lee for retiring all of the runners he faced.
Oh, who is 2-1 with a 4.65 ERA in seven games (31 innings) this season, said, “I was worried about my pace as the season went on last year. I prepared a lot for this in spring training. This season, I will try to continue to maintain a good pace,” said Oh, who is determined for the rest of the season.
