The Samsung Lions have finalized their roster numbers for this season.
New foreign pitcher Connor Seabold (registered name Connor) will wear No. 52, Danny Reyes (registered name Reyes) will wear No. 43, and foreign hitter David McKinnon (registered name McKinnon) will wear No. 24.
Kim Jae-yoon, a former Gukwoong pitcher who joined Samsung for a four-year, 5.8 billion won deal, wears No. 62, 안전놀이터 while another free agent pitcher, Lim Chang-min, wears No. 45. Left-hander Choi Sung-hoon, who joined Samsung through the second round of the draft, wears No. 54, while underhanded Yang Hyun wears No. 19 and infielder Jeon Byung-woo wears No. 34. Right-hander Lee Min-ho, who passed Samsung’s tryout after being released by the NC, will wear the number 100.
There are also a few players who have changed their numbers.
Left-hander Lee Jae-ik will wear the number 1, while catcher Kim Jae-sung will start with the number 2. Kim Jae-hyuk (outfielder), who returned to the team after completing his military service, chose number 8. Ryu Ji-hyuk, who became Samsung’s newest member in a one-for-one trade with Kim Tae-gun (KIA) last year, will wear No. 16. Left-hander Lee Sang-min switched to No. 15, while left-hander Lee Seung-hyun chose No. 57.
Outfielders Kim Hun-gon and Kim Tae-hoon switched to No. 32 and 25, respectively, while left-hander Lee Seung-min chose No. 35 and sidearm Choi Ha-neul chose No. 37. Pitcher Choi Ji-kwang switched to 40 and catcher Kim Do-hwan to 42, while Hong Mi-won (46), Kim Si-hyun (48), Park Kwon-hoo (49), and Ryu Seung-min (50) all chose new numbers.
Looking at the numbers of the major rookies, first-round pick Yuk Sun-yeop wore the number 4, which was worn by David Buchanan until last year, while Park Jun-yong chose the number 66. Jung Min-sung was given the number 67.
Future team manager Chung Dae-hyun wears No. 73, while Jung Min-tae, who will serve as the first-team pitching coach, has No. 79.
