Holland scores another goal
English professional soccer team Manchester City created a come-from-behind drama against Leipzig (Germany) with Erling Holland’s chase goal.
Manchester City fell behind 0-2 to Leipzig in the 5th home game of Group G of the 2023-2024 UEFA Champions League (UCL) group stage held at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, England on the 29th (Korean time) before falling 3- Won by 2.
Manchester City, who had already confirmed their advancement to the round of 16, won all five games with this victory and secured first place in the group (15 points).
Leipzig, who had also booked their place in the round of 16, ended up in second place (9 points) regardless of the result of the final match.
Leipzig took the lead with consecutive goals scored by Royce Offenda during a counterattack in the 13th and 33rd minutes of the first half.
Holan is happy after scoring a chasing goal
Man City turned the game around with a goal feast in the second half.
‘Monster goal scorer’ Holland took responsibility for the chasing goal in the 9th minute of the second half by receiving Phil Foden’s penetration pass and cutting the goal with a right-footed shot.
With this goal, Holland set a new record of 40 goals in the shortest UCL game.
The previous record was Ruud Van Nisnelloy (retired), who scored 40 goals in 45 games, but Holland reached the same figure in just 35 games.
Holland, who scored 5 goals in this season’s competition, is tied for the lead in scoring with Álvaro Morata (Atletico Madrid) and Rasmus Høirun (Manchester United).
Holland was the top scorer in last season’s competition with 12 goals and led the way in Manchester City’s first win.
Foden was also involved in Manchester City’s subsequent two goals and performed at his best, scoring a total of one goal and two assists. 19가이드03
