Maybe he just didn’t like Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). Kylian Mbappe is leaving Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) after taking a 33% pay cut.
The Daily Mail, a British media outlet, reported on the 11th (KST) that ‘Mbappe will leave PSG this summer. He is believed to be preparing to join Real Madrid (Spain). He is expected to take a pay cut if he leaves PSG,” the newspaper reported.
Mbappe said on his personal social networking service (SNS) on Nov. 11, “This is my last year at PSG. I will not extend my contract. My adventure (at PSG) will end in a few weeks,” Mbappe said on his personal social media account. This marks the end of Mbappe’s seven-year association with PSG.
Mbappe joined PSG on loan in August 2017. Mbappe, who played for AS Monaco in the French Ligue 1, joined PSG on a full transfer after a one-year loan in the 2017-18 season. His move to PSG cost €180 million, the second highest transfer fee in history at the time, and he became one of the club’s leading stars. He won five French Ligue 1 titles, three Coupe de France (French Cup) titles, and three Trophée des Champions (Super Cup) titles. He was also the league’s top scorer five times. This season, he has 26 goals and is a strong candidate for the top scorer’s award.
Mbappe has scored 255 goals in 306 games for PSG. He’s also the club’s all-time leading scorer. However, his contract was set to expire in June of this year, and it was a foregone conclusion that he would leave PSG after reportedly refusing to extend his contract last year. “For many years, I had the opportunity and honor to be a player of the biggest club in France and one of the best clubs in the world. For the first time, I experienced playing under great pressure at a club, and I grew as a player and as a person with some of the best players in history, great champions. I never thought it would be so difficult to announce that I was leaving my country, France, and the Ligue 1 I have always known. After seven years, I thought I needed a new challenge. I know I’m not the most exemplary player. I didn’t always live up to the love you gave me for seven years, but I never tried to 사설토토 cheat and I always wanted to be efficient,” he said.
Real Madrid have been heavily touted as Mbappe’s new club. ‘Mbappe is set to take a massive cut (in wages) to bring him in line with Real Madrid’s top earners,’ says the Daily Mail. He currently earns £5.1 million a week. His total pre-tax wages are estimated at £62 million. But if he leaves for Real Madrid, his salary will be significantly lower than it was at PSG.
Meanwhile, PSG play their final home league game of the season against Toulouse on Nov. 13. After that, they have two Ligue 1 away games and the French Cup final against Lyon in Lille on June 26th. PSG will be looking to win three titles this season, including the French Cup. PSG previously won the Ligue 1 and Super Cup titles.
