Robert Lewandowski (36, Barcelona) was named Player of the Match (POTM).

FC Barcelona played SSC Napoli to a 1-1 draw in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 first leg of the 2023-2024 season at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in Naples, Italy, at 5:00 a.m. ET on Sunday.

Barcelona opened the scoring in the 15th minute of the second leg when Robert Lewandowski took advantage of a forward pass from Pedri to beat two defenders in the box with a low, quick shot.

Napoli equalized shortly afterward.

In the 30th minute of the second half, Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa found Victor Osimhen in the box, who, like Lewandowski, scored the equalizer with a low, quick shot.

After the match, the UEFA Champions League announced on its official website that Lewandowski was named POTM of the match.

Lewandowski played the full match and recorded four shots on goal, including one on target, a passing success rate of 60% (9/15), 스포츠토토 one chance created, and six touches of the ball in the opponent’s box. He was also solid in defense, making one shot block, four clearances, and two ball recoveries.

The UEFA Technical Observer said: “He scored a great goal and led the offense forward. He also played an important role in defensive situations and worked hard in the last 10 minutes of the game, under pressure,” said the UEFA Technical Observer in selecting the POTM.

“With this goal, Lewandowski scored his 47th goal in 43 matches in this competition,” UEFA added.

With the 1-1 draw away from home, Barcelona will now host Napoli on March 13 for the second leg of the round of 16.
