Defending champions Mittwilan have advanced to the third qualifying round of the 2024-2025 UEFA Champions League (UCL) after defeating Santa Coloma in the Danish professional soccer Superliga.

Mittwalland defeated Santa Coloma (Andorra) 1-0 in the second leg of the 2024-2025 UCL second qualifying round at the MCH Arena in Herning, Denmark, on Monday (June 1) with 10 men after a man was sent off early in the second half.

After a 3-0 away win in the first leg on April 24, Mitwillan advanced to the third qualifying round with a 4-0 aggregate scoreline after the first and second legs.

They will now face Peretzvárosi (Hungary), who defeated The New Saints (Wales) 7-1 (5-0 W-2-1 D) in the second round, in the third round of the playoffs.

In the match, Mitwillan’s South Korean defender Lee Han-beom started the entire match at center back in a 4-4-2 system and helped the team to a clean sheet. Striker Cho Kyu-sung was absent from the roster as he continues to rehabilitate from knee surgery.

After a scoreless first half, Mitwillan gained the numerical advantage two minutes into the second half when Santa Coloma central defender Pablo Perez was sent off for accumulating cautions.

Mitwilan finally broke through in the 27th minute when Dario Osorio scored a powerful left-footed strike from the penalty spot, which proved to be the game-winner.

Meanwhile, Partizan (Serbia), who started midfielder Ko Young-joon, lost their UCL second qualifying round home match against Dynamo Kyiv (Ukraine) 0-3.

After a 2-6 away defeat in the first leg, Partizan conceded three goals without reply in the second leg at home to fall to 2-9 on aggregate in the first and second legs, and were eliminated from the second qualifying round.
