Pagcor Says It Received New Clark IR Application

The Philippine Entertainment Gaming Company (Pagcor), a Philippine gaming regulator, confirmed to GGRAsia that the Philippines has received applications for a new casino resort in Clark, Pampanga province.

“The chairman’s office has received an application for an integrated resort license but has not yet been approved by the gaming licensing and development department for processing,” a Pagcor spokesperson said in a written response to GGRAsia on Thursday.

Regulators have not identified the companies applying for licenses.

Premium Leisure Corporation, an investor in the Philippine capital City of Dreams Manila casino resort, plans to invest at least $300 million in a separate casino resort in Clark, according to a Reuters report on Wednesday.

In addition to casinos, “convention centers and hotels” will also be included in the project, a source in the outlet said.

Premium Leisure, which was delisted from the Philippine Stock Exchange’s main board of directors on July 9, is currently a privately held subsidiary of Philippine-listed Belle Corp. The latter is a subsidiary of SM Investments Corp, the most valuable company in the Philippines.

In a filing with the Philippine Stock Exchange on Thursday, Bell confirmed that Premium Leisure’s “game-focused investment company” had “applied to government regulators for a gaming license.”

“However, information on potential investments, particularly on certain projects within Clark City in central Luzon, is still too preliminary, so we still can’t make any confirmation on that, especially given that license applications have not yet been implemented,” Bell said.

“We will make an appropriate disclosure once the investment decision is finalized,” the company said.
